Belladonna Ointment

VEGAN Traditional flying ointment.

Belladonna is a quintessential herb to a ☠️ Witch. Belladonna contains alkaloids of Atropine, Hyoscyamine, and Scopolamine, which give Belladonna her properties.

Commonly known as Deadly Nightshade, Belladonna is intrinsically linked to witchcraft; on Walpurgis night, it was thought that the spirit of the deadly nightshade emerged while witches were preparing their covens.

Belladonna was reportedly used in the preparation of ointments that, when absorbed through the skin, caused illusions, lightness and the sensation of flying. These ointments  encourage euphoria and enjoyable illusions--lending a hand to astral travel and the presence of visions. Belladonna is also very useful in divination. Deadly Nightshade’s name comes from the Greek mythological character Atropos, one of the three fates whose role was to cut the thread of human life.

Feeling anxious? General aches and pains? Believe me, I get it!  When I feel this way, Belladonna is my savior; she calms me and absorbs my pains. 🖤

Magical uses include Astral projection and the inclusion in protection spells. Aka Witch's Berry, for it's ability to help the user reach an altered state of mind. Belladonna is popular in both glamour magic, and Necromancy workings. Personally, I utilize Belladonna as a grounding aid, due to the heavy, full, enveloped feeling she provides.

Belladonna is connected to the goddesses Bellona, Circe, and Hekate.

Prepared as an ointment, Belladonna is my go to for all kinds of headaches, anxiousness, sleeping troubles, nerve complaints, discomfort in my back, muscle tightness (no matter the cause), pain/bruising after surgery, the pain of menstrual cramps among many others..

Belladonna restore balance and restfulness in the body and reduces both intellectual and emotional tension. As Belladonna affects the nervous system directly, it can help to encourage sleep – simply rub Belladonna ointment into your temples, to the base of your neck, on the bottoms of your feet, or into your neck and shoulders, 1-2 hours before bedtime.

The use of Belladonna for its sleep encouraging properties has also been reported to encourage pleasant, visually stimulating dreams. It is known to aid in lucid dreaming. Personally, I've found that rubbing Belladonna into the bottoms of my feet, offers amazing relief from plantar fasciitis pain.
