Tincture of Γúε

Γúε, Ruta graveolens, has a long history, steeped in magic and witchcraft, but also in its use as a culinary spice and as a Therapeutic herb.

Γúε is believed to be an herb of protection in both magical and Therapeutic use. This recognizable evergreen shrub has been cited but he likes of Shakespeare, Pliny, Gulliver, among others. It has been revered as an herb of healing, warding, recognition, and remembrance.

While is it believed that Γúε has long standing use as an ingredient in spell working and witchcraft, it is also said that Γúε repels both cats and snakes. While this seems a bit contradictory to me, personally, take from it what you will.

Γúε was used as a symbol of recognition between Witches during the Middle Ages. A Γúε branch was used to sprinkle holy water onto The Catholic Church’s followers during the same time, leading to the term, “herb of grace”. People of Jewish beliefs added Γúε to amulets for protection from plagues and epidemics. Early Physicians believed Γúε to offer beneficial protection from pestilence, plagues, fleas, and ☠️s. Γúε is made popular in Lithuanian, Ukrainian and Jewish folklore, and folk songs, in addition to English literature.

Used responsibly, and in appropriate dosages, Γúε has many health benefits. Some issues that Γúε is used to treat are:

Problems with the digestive system, such as upset stomach, diarrhea, and loss of appetite

Heart palpitations & other heart and circulation issues

Hardening of the arteries

Restricted breathing, such as that which accompanies coughing & pain associated with swelling of the tissue around the lungs. (Pleurisy)

Cramps, headaches, arthritis, muscle spasms, epilepsy, nervousness, Bell’s palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, hemorrhage, fever, hepatitis, water retention, mouth cancer, intestinal worm infestations, and menstrual problems. Γúε can also rid one of fungus and bacteria and can stimulate the uterus.

DO NOT use while pregnant or nursing. Γúε has abortifacient properties & can cause miscarriage. Do not use if you have been diagnosed with any serious GI, urinary tract, kidney, or liver conditions.

Please note that Γúε can amplify effects of other medications that cause photosensitivity, such as Elavil, Cipro, Noroxin, Maxaquin, Floxin, Levaquin, Zagam, Tequin, Avelox, Septra, tetracycline, Oxsoralen, and Trisoralen.
