Wood Sorrel is known to protect the liver from damage & to promote faster healing. Stomach issues such as ulcers & diarrhea can also be calmed by wood sorrel, & its antimicrobial compounds prevent wounds from becoming infected, & can speed up the healing process.

Wood Sorrel contains an impressive range of phytochemical constituents. The phenols & flavonoids help protect the liver from substances found in common pain & fever reducers. The Methanolic extracts have been shown to be as effective as common antidiarrhea aids. These principles are said to halt diarrhea by inhibiting the motility & secretions of the small intestine. Wood sorrel helps soothe ulcers by increasing mucus secretion & inhibiting the bacterial growth that cause them.
